For women with ankle instability, the Lowa Sassa GTX Mid trekking boot is what you need.
- Lowa created the Sassa GTX Mid as a companion for female hikers on the trails. Leather and a Gore-Tex lining primarily make up the upper. It also features Slingshot for heel fit, fabric loops for a lightweight lacing system and toe and heel caps for protection.
- An Elika outsole and dual-density DuraPU midsole act as a unit and renders underfoot protection. A medium shank stabilizes, and a Climate Control footbed enhances comfort.
Using the proprietary Elika outsole, the Sassa GTX Mid yields traction on most surfaces. Its pronounced heel edge assists especially on descents. The front is also ridged to assist during ascents. Its technical profile outsole optimizes ground contact and brings a secure foothold. Lowa also constructed this to be resolable (soles can be replaced) for a cost.
The Sassa GTX Mid uses a dual-component DuraPU midsole for a lightweight, long-lasting cushioning. It has a full-length, medium shank that yields underfoot support and is designed for users with light packs. The Climate Control footbed has a breathable top layer and is able to conform to the shape of the foot for walking comfort.
This mid-cut backpacking boot from Lowa features split-grain leather lined with the Gore-Tex Extended Comfort laminate. It is constructed with minimal seams to prevent friction. Together, they deliver a waterproof, breathable and durable upper. The toe and heel guards shield the foot from scuffs. The fabric loops permit closure without the added weight. In addition, its tongue and collar are padded for comfort.
- The Lowa Sassa silhouette also comes in a low-cut GTX package and LL (leather lined) versions.
