- The Hi-Tec Florence Low WP is engineered with various multi-sport features that enable trail lovers to take on different kinds of day hiking challenges. Its part suede, part mesh upper is imbued with Dri-Tec, a proprietary technology that makes the shoe breathable on the inside yet watertight on the outside.
- It uses an EVA midsole and Hi-Tec’s very own M-D Traction outsole for cushioning, stability, and grip performance on the trail. These two components combined equip the shoe with a rockered toe—a useful feature that promotes mobility, especially during push offs.
A low-cut, fairly true-to-size day hiking shoe for women is the Hi-Tec Florence Low WP. Its sizing options include full and half sizes. It is offered in B – standard width. Its Ghillie and eyelet lacing system provides a secure and snug lockdown. A comfy fit, on the other hand, is courtesy of the shoe’s padded ankle cuff and tongue.
For surface traction, Hi-Tec engineers gave the Florence Low WP the M-D Traction rubber outsole (where M-D stands for multi-directional). As its name suggests, this company-owned component promises grip in practically every angle thanks to its aggressively shaped lugs. It is capable of giving users ample descent control with its heel brake feature. Its forefoot extension doubles down on toe protection.
This low-top hiker relies on its extra-thick midsole in giving wearers the right amount of underfoot comfort and ground stability on the trail. Since it is made of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), this cushy layer possesses both toughness and flexibility. Right on top of this springy platform is the gear’s molded EVA footbed for additional cushioning.
The Florence Low WP’s below-the-ankle upper is made with a combination of waterproof suede leather and mesh fabric. Its capability to breathe yet stay watertight is thanks in no small part to Dri-Tec, Hi-Tec’s waterproofing technology. Over at its heel is a reinforcing overlay for support, while at its front end is a toe rand for bump protection.
