  • The redesigned Five Ten Guide Tennie offers all-round performance, thanks to its hiking ability and climbing credentials. It kept the same amount of toe rubber for durability and friction. Its revamped look also includes updates in the heel counter for greater stability and a to-the-toe lacing for a more precise fit. The 5.10 logo has also been replaced. The compression-molded midsole and Stealth rubber outsole are features inherited from its predecessor.

The Guide Tennie comes in men’s and women’s variant. The latter has a lower volume to grant a female-specific fit. The leather upper of the shoe has a minimal level of stretch. Furthermore, its to-the-toe lacing system will facilitate a more custom fit.

This 5.10 approach shoe carries a Stealth C4 rubber outsole. It is designed to provide grip on all types of terrain. Its Dotty tread pattern (using circular lugs) prevents the accumulation of mud and dirt, maintaining traction. The hand-ground beveled toe section yields precise edging, especially on small footholds. The rubber patch at the toe also grants a certain degree of friction, enhancing performance.

Five Ten’s Guide Tennie uses a compression-molded midsole. This material provides comfort when doing long hikes and approaches. Also, it yields support to users when scrambling.

The upper of the Guide Tennie is made of a combination of synthetic and suede. Aside from protecting the foot against outdoor obstacles, these materials also yield breathability and a degree of water-resistance. Its interior is lined with mesh to enhance comfort while a rubber rand at the forefoot heightens durability.

The closure system of this Five Ten shoe employs a flat lace that passes through nine pairs of eyelets. This feature assists in fit management. When tightened, users will enjoy its climbing performance. On the other hand, loosening it grants hiking comfort.

The heel counter helps stabilize the foot inside the shoe. Additionally, the heel area has a pull tab that promotes easy on and off. It can also be used by climbers to clip their shoes to their pack or harness when doing single- or multi-pitch climbs.
